Le Dernier Refuge (The Last Resort)

In the heart of Brussels, a mile away from the parliament and the royal palace, nearly 100 West African migrants inhabit a squat. For six years now, they have been sharing seven rooms.
27-year-old Moussa keeps things going. 'There is no community without rules' he knows. 'If we are here for six years it's thanks to good organization.' It is the longest-running occupation in the capital but packed together, with no privacy and no prospects, life weighs heavily. Nobody wants to stay but nobody knows where to go
'The government has kicked us out. They have cast us aside. If we also argue amongst ourselves, it's not going to work', says Moussa. Only collectively they can make a difference. Their last resort is also their last hope.
